Yes. Of course I'm going to the Feast With Famous Faces. I would NEVER miss it.
I would go just because it's Kassie DePaiva 's favorite cause.
I would go because of the League for the Hard of Hearing's dedication to serving people of ALL economic means with the finest care.
I would go because our family NEVER could get my mother the help she needed with her hearing impairment UNTIL Kassie suggested I take her to the League. After going there,
she could hear again.... we got her back. Which is to say that if you can't hear, sometimes people shut down or get angry. Once she could hear what was going on around her again,
she came back with gusto...her humor, her sarcasm (yes, we even missed that) and her natural intelligence backed by extensive reading was once again part of the mix of being with
her...we were all profoundly grateful to Dr. Ellen Lafargue and the League for the gift of having her with us again.
But also I cannot minimize the following three reasons for supporting this event:
1-THE FOOD
2-THE FOOD
3-THE FOOD!
It's the best FUNDRAISER of the entire year. It's in a wide spacious venue, beautifully run. AND IT'S TAX DEDUCTIBLE.
In this financial crunch particularly, you may have to be carefully watching which events, which organizations and causes
you pick to share your money and time with. Go to this one...it's one investment that will hold and increase it's value.
